New Beginnings
It's always been hard for me to be detailed, but I've been working on that. I tend to give the quick once over and then give my approval or disdain.
Since I'm getting married in a little over 30 days, a lot of things are going to change for me. I'm going to have to start looking at the little details, paying attention to small things. I'm starting this blog as a way of reminding myself to PAY ATTENTION! I don't just mean little things as in a pretty picture or clothing. This will branch out to all areas of life: money, projects, work, what my husband-to-be likes or doesn't like... I want to start out my marriage with a godly focus foremost, then frugal but beautiful. Who said that you have to look like you're wearing a paper sack and your house be bare and ugly while being frugal? I know I need lots of wisdom with this. With all my heart, I want to be a Proverbs 31 wife who gets up and provides for her family. A few years ago I heard a well beloved teacher of mine say "Men... there is no Proverbs 31 woman... and ladies... there is no Mr. Darcy". As funny as that was... it made me sad to think that I could never reach the model for a young wife. In the past few months, I've begun to change my viewpoint. With God all things ARE possible. I can become a Proverbs 31 wife. It will take discipline and it may go against the grain, but I intend to make changes in my life to become the woman of God that will build up my husband, help him in all his endeavors, work to make his house a home, and live life to the fullest.
People who stop to examine the petals of a flower get so much more out of it than the others who do a quick once over and leave. I want to examine every area of my life; and then put to use the beauty that God has provided. I've never thought of myself as a creative person, but I intend to use this blog as a way of expressing any and all creativity that God has given me. I'll share my mishaps and triumphs along the way of learning to become the Proverbs 31 wife. To me... she's the one who will stop it all and appreciate the beauty of a petal on a flower. She's the perfect blend of Mary and Martha, she works, but knows to take time to sit at the Master's feet. What better flower to sit and gaze upon than the ever blooming Rose of Sharon?
