Charge on soldier
If you want to say something at all, you should say something with meaning and depth, that adds to others lives.
I've always been a deep thinker, but I can never seem to get my thoughts out until I start to write. Sometimes my thoughts then flow out as an ocean. Other times the dam is closed. Usually I get my thoughts out in a song, or poem. The poem usually turns into a song... and depending on how well I like the tune... I just keep it as a poem. One such poem/song I will share in this post. The background for this was very simple really... I was in bible college. I was learning a lot but at times felt like I didn't know enough and I often wanted to just hide away until knowledge just came to me. Ever felt like that? Don't you just want the know-how and ability to just appear one day? I know I do... even now. I want to be able to teach these children I look after to be bright little angels. I often want to just run out of the room and be able to come back in and the ruckus and loud little ones will all be gone. But it's in these times I learn. I grow. I don't realize it at the time... but I do. It's a slow progression... but in teaching others... I am taught. Don't ever run away from a problem. David ran straight at the problem. Let us all be that bold.
Don't run away, you can't hide from this
don't go astray, searching for your bliss
don't seek a sign, there's much you can miss
in time you'll understand this
This is life, it's not a game
it's not yesterday's problems or your shame
we live in Christ and He's the same
if you're weak or bruised or hurting... or maim
Don't run away
Don't run away, you still must grow
don't go astray, searching high and low
don't seek a sign, when times get slow
in time, know you will grow
This is life, it's for today
it's not for a jest or poking or play
we live in Christ, and so I say
if you're tired or stressed, perhaps you've lost your way
but don't run away
